Mixology

 Some cocktail ideas...

Notes:

  • A 'dose' in the recipes below refers to one capsule (1/5 of a full dose)
  • Capsules can be blended whole. They are 100% natural, plant-based and tasteless - and will completely dissolve within seconds.
  • Blend for 5 to 10 seconds to ensure all herb extracts are fully homogenised.
  • Serve immediately.
  • Elixirs can be mixed and matched to excellent effect.

Vivid

#1

  • Single or double dose Vivid
  • Fresh grapefruit juice
  • Crushed ice

Blend
Top with sparkling water
Splash real Grenadine (or homemade pomegranate juice + sugar syrup)
Garnish with mint and/or grapefruit slice

(Vivid is a very bitter product, and the grapefruit juice conceals it well.)

Blue Cleopatra

#1

  • Double dose Blue Cleopatra (formulation is quite subtle still)
  • ½ shot vodka
  • Crushed ice

Blend
Top up with ½ glass white wine or ½ glass champagne
Dash lime juice
Sprinkle pomegranate arils

#2

  • Double dose Blue Cleopatra
  • Mango or mango/pineapple juice
  • Coconut cream
  • Crushed ice

Blend
Sprinkle blueberries

#3

Can easily blend into any kind of hot chocolate / frothy coffee type beverage also.

(Blue Cleopatra has a light malty taste with floral notes, so does not need much masking. In the time of the Pharaohs it was served in a strong wine (around 20% alcohol), hence the white wine with vodka boost to replicate that.)

Yab Yum

#1

  • Single dose Yab Yum (singles only - a double would generally be too strong for a single drink)

Blend into a traditional Virgin Mary without Worcestershire Sauce;

o Tomato juice
o Lemon/lime juice
o Tabasco sauce
o Celery salt
o Crushed ice

(Every bartender has their own recipe, so don’t want to say too much!)

#2

  • Single dose Yab Yum
  • 1 shot fire tonic
  • 2 shots lime juice
  • Grated ginger
  • Honey
  • Crushed ice
Blend
Serve either neat as a shooter, or topped up with sparkling water or ginger kombucha

#3
  • Single dose Yab Yum
  • 50/50 pineapple/grapefruit juice
  • Rose water
  • Crushed ice
Blend
Splash blackcurrant syrup
Garnish with a thorny rose!

(Yab Yum has strong spicy, herby and bitter notes. Similar to Vivid in ways but more complex. Needs some work to make palatable.)
